Who has forgotten Carlo Ancelotti?Who has forgotten the 2009/2010 season? the Italian's first season at Stamford Bridge ended in glory has he won a double for the blues.Sadly, he was fired inthe following for ending it trophyless.
It has been a norm for Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich to fire any manager at the Bridge who fail to deliver but for Carletto, he was not supposed to shown the door. The man really tried to put Chelsea in the winning form but all was in vain but as they say, a good manager is the one who is ready to take blames. He was blamed for the Blues poor form.
Personally, I was disappointed when Ancelotti was no longer Blues manager as the man really made me comfortable.I vividly remember our winning and last game against Wigan Athletic, the way we thrashed them 8 goals to crowned the premier league champions. But Roman and the managed at Chelsea decided to have him out
Roman wished to have a winning coach and the FC Porto manager, Andre Villas Boas (AVB) was in the position of taking the hot seat at Cobham has he had worn four titles with Porto in that season.Everybody who loves Chelsea had hopes for the 33 year old to deliver for Chelsea.
AVB's opening game was a draw against Stoke city and we were anxiously waiting to start the season in style as we always do,we went on crawling..with AVB, winning was luck for us.We started dropping points and performing poorly in the League and other domestic cups as we were out of the Carling cup.We were almost out of the FA cup.
Everybody now at Chelsea including the players never wanted AVB again as his tactics never succeeded. He was also shown the door when we were beaten 1-0 by Westbromwich Albion following A 3-1 away loss to Napoli in the UEFA champions league and A 1-1 home draw to Birmingham city in the FA cup.
Luckily, His assistant Robert Di Matteo(RDM) will be remembered for his effort of reviving Chelsea's hopes for the season has he turned the UEFA loss in the return match at the Stamford bridge and also away FA cup tie with Birmingham city.
The former Blues attacking midfielder brought some rays of hope at Stamford Bridge as players were united under him and the team was in the winning form seeing them going through past Benfica(quarters) and Barcelona(semi-finals) in the UEFA champions league to finals at Germany where they will play Bayern Munich in the finals on the 19th May 2012.
The legend also has clinched the blues to their 7th FA cup title this season when Chelsea beat their great rivals Liverpool 2-1 at Wembley with Blues danger man Didier Drogba striking the winner in the second half after the Brazilian Ramires put Chelsea ahead in the first half.
RDM stands a great chance to be offered a permanent Chelsea managing role but the great decider is the outcome of the Champions' league final on 19th May. I genuinely back the blues for the trophy because the team really deserves to be where they are and hopefully they will be crowned the 2012 UEFA champions come that date.
Blues for ever!!
